What This Does #
Let’s you directly upload documents (PDFs, Word docs, etc.) to train your bot with your specific content.
When to Use This #
- You have important documents not available online
- You want to include internal manuals or guides
- You have PDFs with product information
- You need to add proprietary content to your bot
Step-by-Step Instructions #
- Access Upload Area
- Go to Build → Data Source → Upload Source
- You’ll see a large upload area with a cloud icon
- Upload Your Files
- Method 1: Click “Upload File” and browse for your file
- Method 2: Drag and drop files directly onto the upload area
- You can upload multiple files at once
- Wait for Processing
- Files will show upload progress
- Once uploaded, they’ll be processed to extract text
- You’ll see “Processing” then “Completed” status
- Check Results
- Processed files appear in “Trained Files” section
- Green status means successful processing
- Red status indicates an error occurred
Supported File Types #
- PDF files: Manuals, guides, documentation
- Word documents: .docx files (not .doc)
- Text files: Plain text documents
- Markdown files: .md files with formatting
File Requirements #
- Maximum size: 50MB per file
- Files must contain readable text (not just images)
- PDFs should be text-based, not scanned images
What Makes Good Training Files #
- Clear, well-organised content
- Current and accurate information
- Customer-relevant information
- Properly formatted text
Troubleshooting #
- File too large? Split into smaller files or compress
- No content extracted? Make sure the file has readable text
